The Association of Pole-lathe Turners and Greenwood Workers (APT&GW) was created in 1990 by a group of a dozen like minded individuals who wanted to promote the art of pole-lathe turning and greenwood working to the rest of the world.

The APT&GW:

  • publishes The Bodger’s Gazette, a quarterly magazine filled with articles from members
  • holds a ‘Bodgers Ball’ weekend at the beginning of May; providing an opportunity to meet other Bodgers, watch demonstrations, and take part in competitions
  • supports the creation and running of local and regional affiliated groups of members
  • advertises courses run by members
  • provides plans for various projects
  • provides educational display boards
  • provides banners for local groups
  • provides bursaries for research
  • sells APT merchandise – shirts, badges etc.
