The Association of Pole-lathe Turners and Greenwood Workers (APT&GW) was created in 1990 by a group of a dozen like minded individuals who wanted to promote the art of pole-lathe turning and greenwood working to the rest of the world.
The APT&GW:

- advertises courses run by members
- provides plans for various projects
- provides educational display boards
- provides banners for local groups
- provides bursaries for research
