Wilderness Gathering – Friday 20th August – Sunday 23rd August 2020

If you’ve never been to the Gathering before and you love nature and the outdoors, then we have the family show for you – Wilderness Gathering, a unique Bushcraft event, is the longest running and still the original festival of bushcraft, survival and primitive living skills.

The Gathering has become a social event and brings together families and friends, all those interested in Bushcraft and Wilderness living skills to enjoy four days of knowledge sharing in a relaxed and family friendly atmosphere

Melplash Agricultural Show – Thursday 27th August 2020

The Melplash Agricultural Society Show is one of the South West’s premier agricultural exhibitions and is held at The West Bay Show grounds, Bridport, Dorset on the last Thursday before the August Bank holiday. Our 2020 show will be held on Thursday 27th August and there really will be something for everyone at our show. The show is packed full of exhibits including livestock, horses, homecrafts and horticulture. There are over 400 trade stands selling everything from locally produced food to tractors… and plenty in between!

Stock Gaylard Oak Fair – Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th August 2020

The August Bank Holiday weekend will once again see the return of the Oak Fair for it’s sixteenth year!

For those who haven’t visited before, the Oak Fair is a unique event celebrating woodcraft, timber, convervation, craft & the countryside, with something that will appeal to everyone from 1 to 100!

We have over 200 exhibitors, traders and food stalls including a beer tent, cider tent and gin bar!

Other highlights are the amazing demonstrations in our arena with heavy horse shows, falconry and impressive lumberjack displays! There is also big machinery demo’s throughout the day including some historic and vintage pieces.

There is also plenty to do including scaling a mighty Oak with The Great Big Tree Climbing company, axe throwing, archery and more.

With a designated childrens area with entertainment and arts and circus workshops the whole family will be happy.

There will also be performances in St Barnabas church over the weekend, Saturday will see Bagatelle returning to perform two short concerts and on Sunday the William Barnes Society.
